My mom gave me a Swiss Army Titanium Watch for my graduation in 2001.
It had a black face plate, metalic brazalet and yellow seconds hand.
The thing is the watch got stolen and I don't have the heart to tell
her so I'm going to do what any decent son would do and buy another
one and never speak of what happened again. But I can't seem to find
it. The first person to find a decent Internet Store where I can buy
it for $600 or less gets the $15. If you find it under $500 you get
1/3 of the difference from the price to $500 as a tip. Thank you very
much.

Hi T4you ...

Congratulations on a wise decision. Speaking as a mother of two fine
sons (both grown now), let me commend you on your decision. There are
some things a mother shouldn't be told, and this is one of them.

I don't know if you know this - but Swiss Army doesn't make all its
watches. It licenses its name to superior watchmakers, such as Wenger
and Victorinox to make some of the watches sold under the Swiss Army
Brand.

A search of Swiss Army titanium watches on the Swiss Army site turned
up nothing close to what you described.
See the Swiss Army site: http://www.swissarmy.com/

However, I did find one made by Victorinox for Swiss Army, which is
titanium, including the titanium band, has a black dial and a yellow
sweep second hand ... you can see the watch at the following site for
Gunther gifts. The price is about right for a model that would be
about two years old ($475).

Does this look like the watch?
http://store.yahoo.com/gunther-gifts/odtit.html

If I'm even close, let me know, and we'll go from there. If we're not,
point out the differences, and I'll keep looking.

And from a mom ... thank you for being so good to your own!

Hi again T4you ...

Per your clarification, here's your answer:

A search of Swiss Army titanium watches on the Swiss Army site turned
up nothing close to what you described. See the Swiss Army site:

http://www.swissarmy.com/

However, I did find one made by Victorinox for Swiss Army, which is
titanium, including the titanium band, has a black dial and a yellow
sweep second hand ... you can see the watch at the following site for
Gunther gifts. The price is about right for a model that would be
about two years old ($475). Gunther Gifts in New Mexico has the watch
you need, and you can order it here:

http://store.yahoo.com/gunther-gifts/odtit.html

The distinction, by the way, is the black face and the yellow sweep
hand, which makes this a rare watch, indeed. Your mom has good taste.

And take my word as a mom ... you'll be glad you did this.

Yours ever so,
Serenata

Howdy again!

Had a chance to call a friend of mine who is a jeweler in New York ...
he said that's a good price for that model, because they didn't make
many (Victorinox) ... the grey face was the "in" face for that model
... and there was only a limited of the black face made.

Now, they're back in demand (the black faces), and in that model, (the
Odyssey) they're hard to find, and they're retailing as a rule for
over $600.

I haven't been able to find another with the black face, period ...
I'd grab it.

Good luck,
Serenata

Sadly gunther gifts doesn't have the watch in stock anymore. Could you
get your Jeweler help me find one? Thanks for trying.

Hi there ...

I asked locally and couldn't find it. I also contacted Victorinox via
their Website www.victorinox.com.

They referred me to Swiss Army in Connecticut:

65 Trap Falls Road
Shelton, CT 06484
1-800-442-2706

A call to Swiss Army in Connecticut told me the model number for the
watch we are seeking is 24304, and has been discontinued, but

They told me that they have sold that model to James & Williams,
1-800-988-5872.

A call to James & Williams was no joy! They're sold out.

Swiss Army also told me that they have sold that particular watch to

Macy's West,
Nortstroms
Dillards,
Foley's
Robinson-Mays.

A check with the stores here and in the Phoenix area ... no joy, they
don't have that model.

A check of Google for Swiss Army 24304 gave me these:

Squires Watches (Canada) has it listed for $505.75
http://www.squireswatches.com/swiss-army/swiss-armypricelist.htm

Kimberly & Company has it listed for $495.00
http://www.kimberleyco.com/swiss/titanium.htm

I think we may be running out of places, so I hope one of those turns
it up!

Yours,
Serenata
