Hello vergita:

a) To multiply fractions, you multiply the denominators and the
numerators seperately, to create a new fraction.

So: 1 * 1 * 1 = 1
and: 2 * 3 * 4 = 24

---
Result: 1/24
---

b) We start as before:

So: 2 * 3 = 6
and: 5 * 4 = 20

To do division of fractions, we invert the second fraction's numerator
and denominator - so 2/3 becomes 3/2. Then, we just multiply as above:

So: 6 * 3 = 18
and: 20 * 2 = 40

---
Result: 18/40, which reduces to 9/20
---

c) 1/2 - 1/7

To do subtraction of fractions, we find the Lowest Common Denominator
- in this case, 14 is the lowest number that 2 and 7 divide into.

So: 7/14 - 2/14

---
Result: 5/14
---

d) LCM for 1/3 and 2/5 is 15.

So: 5/15 + 6/15 = 11/15

LCM for 11/15 and 1/8 is 120

So: 88/15 - 15/120

---
Result: 73/120
---

e) LCM for 4/5 and 1/7 is 35

So: 28/35 - 5/35 = 23/35
and: 23/35 + 14/35 = 37/35

---
Result: 37/35 or 1 and 2/35
---

I hope this helps! If anything's unclear, please feel free to request
clarification prior to rating this answer.

All the best,

My apologies: the line which reads:

So: 88/15 - 15/120

Should read:

So: 88/120 - 15/120
