A couple of years ago, there was a blog by someone in Victoria BC
Canada who was dying. In the blog, the person was talking about dying,
then there was nothing heard from them until weeks later when a
"friend" posted a message saying the blogger had died. A large
community of people who'd been reading the blog was saddened -- until
they discovered the blog was a hoax.  I'm trying to track down the
author of that blog (they've done media interviews) and, ideally,
people who read it.

I was unable to come up with anything from the information that you
gave. Can you confirm all of the details in your question: (Victoria -
BC, Cancer, Blog, Media Interviews).

Any additional information you can supply would be great.

Do you know roughly what types of media (tv, newspaper, internet etc?)
You mention that this was a couple of years ago, but if you could be
more specific (narrow this down) it would help.

Hi tisme,

I am pretty sure something in the Victoria daily newspaper (The
Times-Colonist) ran something and I *think* there was something in
Shift magazine... www.shift.ca or www.shift.com

It was a man in Victoria who'd created the fake story and quite a
following had developed.

The blogger wasn't in Victoria BC, but the "Kaycee Nicole" hoax was very similar.
