what does the phrase classic italian gap mean? I heard this on a
program. I think it has something to do with body language and
behavioral patterns dealing with a person who likes to have power or control.

Hi,

I can't find anything specific on the phrase "classic Italian gap" -
there are two possibilities.

Was this in relation to bicycle racing? It may be a reference to the
strategy used by the Italians of having two or three riders form a
wedge that blocked others from successful attacks. They can control
the road and prevent anyone else from passing. I haven't been able
verify this, but it seems to fit your guess at the meaning.

The other classic Italian gap that comes up is the north/south gap,
but that seems to have less to do with control.

Regards,
