My keyboard rarely types a double consonant e.g. bubble = buble Is there a solution or do I need a new keyboard (new is chdeaper than repair?)? Opening & Self-Cleaning has previously left me with key springs in hand! | |

Hi there, It sounds like your problem is that you have FilterKeys enabled. To disable it: -Click Start>Settings>Control Panel and open up the Accessibility Options panel -Unclick the Use FilterKeys option -Click OK If FilterKeys are indeed what's causing your problem, that should solve it! If not, please request clarification before rating your answer and I'll be glad to help you figure it out. Get a new keyboard. They're a few bucks. Make sure you get one with compatible connection [e.g. USB, PS2, etc.]. See http://www.pricewatch.com/ |

I would agree. All you can really do with the old one is clean it, and you have already done that. Keyboards today are known as throw away technology, when it breaks it is far cheaper to replace than to fix. A halfway decent keyboard can often be had for less than $10, and nice ones usually less than $30. I personally have more keyboards than I know what to do with, because many people often get rid of old computers with perfectly working keyboards they are willing to part with for free. |
