What time does the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 arrive in Los Angeles
on Saturday January 18? Will I be able to board the ship as a
sightseer to look around?

I have found the times of arrival and departure for the QE2 in Los
Angeles on Saturday January 18.

I tried to call the company that operates the QE2, but unfortunately,
its office is closed for the day. I would be happy to call tomorrow
morning. Would you be interested in an answer to this question
tomorrow? Or would you prefer that I give you the information that I
have now, which includes the phone number for the company, so that you
can call them yourself to find out whether you can board the ship as a
sightseer?

Hello

An email answer tomorrow (Fri Jan. 17) is fine. If it is possible for
sightseers to visit the ship, can you please include the details on
how I can do so? Thank you very much!

Hello stowaway-ga (hmm, interesting name ;-) ),

The Queen Elizabeth 2, operated by Cunard Line, is scheduled to arrive
in Los Angeles on Saturday January 18, 2003, at 8:00 AM, and depart at
11:00 AM.

"Voyage Details: World Cruise: Voyage of Six Continents II"
Cunard Line
http://www.cunard.com/index.cfm?method=daybyday&ship=QE2&content=home&lang=us&cruiseid=2247

I spoke with a Guest Services representative at Cunard Line. She
explained that Cunard Line has been at its highest level of security
since the events of September 11, 2001. Accordingly, all over the
world for all of Cunard Line's ships, no sightseers -- as opposed to
ticketed passengers -- can visit the ship. She also noted that Cunard
Line used to hold "bon voyage" parties, where family and friends of
passengers could visit the ship, before the ship got underway. But
since September 11, 2001, that is not possible for security reasons.

In case you want to check on this information, here is Cunard Line's
contact information:

"International Offices"
Cunard Line
http://www.cunard.com/home/internationaloffices.asp

"Company Profile"
Cunard Line
http://www.cunard.com/aboutcunard/CompanyProfile.asp?Active=Line

I wish that the answer could be different. But the world has changed
since September 11, 2001, and this is just one example.
