Hi,
I am in need of a minidisc drive to insert into a drive slot in my
computer. The reasons being that I recently bought a minidisc recorder
but i want to take the disc ot and copy the contents to my harddrive.
I want to be able to edit my sound files in a editing program like
Cool Edit 2.0 PRO.
All i really need is a set of models and prices. But if you think i
wont need a drive to do this please say so. The only reason i am not
experimenting with it now is that i bought it online and am waiting
for it to arrive. Information about the player is below.
MZ-N707BLACK
Sony Electronics
MD Player/Recorder

Please tell me if you need more information.
Thanks,
Wayne C. Nelson

Hello,

You really don't need anything at all if you want to have analog
copies to edit on your computer. Just hook up the lineout from your
minidisc to the linein of your soundcard. If you choose to have a
fully digital<->digital connection, all you really need is one of
these USB connectors so that you can hook up your PC to your MD
player. Find the one which fits your pricerange, or if you have one, I
can find one to match it.

Thanks for the quick response,
A Digital to Digital Connection is what i really need. The digital to
analog is possible but a system where i can basicly drag and drop
sound files would be prefeable. If you could find some extra
information on that it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have a
usb to usb device cord. If you could get a picture of the end of one
of those digital cords, i might already have what i need.
Thanks again,

Did you get a chance to look at the page under additional links? Those
are the connectors that I described. Looking at Sony's site for your
model, I'm not sure if I came across a MD<-->PC cable. The other thing
would be to upgrade your soundcard, because the MD's already have a
digital out in the form of their TOSLink standard. You can get a
TOSLink --> Digital Coax converter and then all higher end soundcards
by SoundBlaster (I'm thinking the Audigy line) have digital coax
inputs. That's another pure digital<->digital hookup.
