I am looking for a place to buy wind up motors like the ones in toy
wind-up-feet. I would like a few different manufacturers or
wholesalers if possible and they must be able to ship to Canada.

Hi benkihami-ga,

I have succeeded in locating one manufacturer of toy motors. They have
some available, can make others to specification, and will ship to
Canada. They sent me some information in an email, but I did not have
the software needed to view it, and I'm currently waiting for them to
respond to my email sent yesterday requesting information in a
different format.

Do you think, since I (and apparently other researchers) have been
unable to find multiple sources for you, that one might be sufficient
as an answer?

Regards,

ericynot-ga

Hi again benkihami-ga,

I delayed posting this answer to you in hopes of getting some
illustrations of windup motors that were in a form I could view (as
mentioned in my previous RFC, I was sent Corel Draw files I have no
software to open) and perhaps post to a third-party site for you.
Since it's been a couple of weeks and I haven't yet received
replacement illustrations, I decided to go ahead and share my results
with you so you can get on with your business.

The source I've been waiting on for additional details is:

Prasid Toys Pvt. Ltd
b-36 kirti nagar
New Delhi-110015
Phone: 5410711, 5411876
Email: prasid@prasid.com
http://www.prasid.com/index.htm

I corresponded by email with a gentleman there named Mr. Varma who
told me "Yes we do make motors for wind up toys. Yes we can ship to
Canada. Enclosed please find literature on toy motors under
production. If you have specific requirement we can make it for you.
Thanks."

I was also able to locate a second possible source for you. While they
don't make windup motors, they say they can provide them in bulk if
you provide them with specifications, quantity, and time frame. They
are:

Slam Bam Fun Merchandise
99 Gold Street
Brooklyn, NY 11201
Phone: 800-451-7481
Email: slambamfunmdse@yahoo.com
http://www.slambamfun.com

I exchanged email with a representative of that company named Jerry
Presner.

I found these two sources through toydirectory.com at
http://www.toydirectory.com/toytable.htm

I hope one of these companies will be able to supply you with exactly
the goods you need. If you have any questions about my answer, please
use the Answer Clarification feature to get back in touch with me for
followup prior to rating the answer.

Thanks for your question,

Hi benkihami,

No luck yet, but have sent emails to three companies. Will let you
know of any positive results.
