Hi Edebohls,
I'm a big fan of Terri and her show. I've sent an email message to
the show's producers asking for your information and I will post that
as soon as they respond.
Unfortunately, as I'm sure you've found from the Fresh Air website,
transcripts of the show are only kept in audio form from 1997 on, and
before that:
"Audiocassettes and transcripts of Fresh Air programs are offered for
your personal and private use. You will need to know the broadcast's
date to place your order. You can find most program dates by searching
the online archive."
Hopefully, my inquiry will help this along. Also, only tapes are
available for interviews prior to 4/16/97. Since the date of the
interview you're interested in was likely in 1989 or 1990, when Mrs.
Reagan's memoirs were published, you will likely only be able to
receive a taped copy of it, if it happens to be available:
"Please note that transcripts for Fresh Air are not available for
programs broadcast prior to April 16, 1997. Tapes are available before
that date. In addition, due to rights issues please be advised that
not all programs are available for sale.
Tapes cost $23.70. Printed and e-mailed transcripts cost $18.70, faxed
transcripts cost $31.70. All prices including shipping and handling."
I've tried to procure transcripts of a couple of interesting
interviews from this site, and each time was met by the response that
those were unavailable. I don't hold out much hope, but I will post
their reply as soon as it comes in.
