Hello,

I've been asked by a doctor's office in the Orange County, CA area to
recommend billing software for their office so that they may become
HIPAA compliant. It is a small office with only a few employees. They
have a single, new computer running Windows.

Cost *is* an important issue, and they do not want to hire an
expensive consultant or purchase a $10,000+ software system to become
HIPAA compliant. Basically, they just want an inexpensive way to
become HIPAA compliant, and they want to begin by purchasing compliant
billing software to submit claims electronically, etc. I would be the
one installing the software and training their staff to use it.

Could you recommend at least a few such solutions? We'd also like to
read some independent reviews of products that small medical offices
have used to achieve this, and some pros and cons of various
possibilities. Sellers based in Southern California, or which offer
free telephone technical support, are preferable.

Thanks,
Darren

Hi! Would you accept as a legitimate answer a listing of such
products. I can't find any reviews for the type of software you want.
Just let me know. :)

hi,

Actually, the reviews are really the most important thing to us. We
already have a few such product names, although it would be worth
about $5 to me to have a more comprehensive list.

If I can get your list for $5 please let me know and I'll reduce the
question price. If you can find any reviews, then list those and I'll
gladly pay the $20.

Thanks,
Darren

Hi again! I again tried to find reviews but to no avail. I would be
willing to come up with the list for $5. But first I would like to
know how many of such software that you require as a legitimate answer
for $5?

Thanks!

:)

At the moment, Medisoft's Patient Accounting software and Lytec
Medical XE are the two that I'm most interested in. They're both
reasonably priced and seem to be much talked-about in some online
discussion forums. Nterprise, Medics Elite, Chiro 7000, Claimtek,
MicroMD, Medical Manager, MedUnite, IDX GMP, and EZ Claim are all
products that I've either heard about or read about, but a lot of the
things I've read seem like sales pitches.

What I'd like is not necessarily more titles, but a recommendation to
go with one of these products. Thus, if you can only provide a list of
titles, then it's not worth it to me at all (i.e., please don't submit
an answer). Only answer if you can definitely recommend one or two
such products on the basis of professional reviews that such products
have gotten.
