If your television has a 240V ac input you require not a transformer
but an inverter which converts 12V dc to 240V ac.

The wattage you require will depend on the power consumption of your
television.

If you are talking about a Low Voltage television that runs off
batteries then you require a 12V to whatever your television requires
adapter lead. Maplin also do these. If you click on Product Menu -

Step-Down Converter (about the 10th item listed under Accessories)
which may be suitable depending on your television. Check its
