Dexter company went out of business. They made door locks. They had
a uniquie hole size. Dexters was 1 7/8" whereby the standard now is 2
1/8". I am looking for companies that sell Dexter locks, specifically
front entry door lock sets. Your Home Depot and Lowes do not sell
them.
thanks

Master acquired Dexter in 1985 but no longer manufactures products
under that brand. Medeco may make a replacement cylinder to fit a 1
7/8 bore, but not a lockset. The general solution to your problem is
to redrill the opening to accomodate the now-standard larger size.
Any locksmith should be able to do it for you.

It might be possible to find a locksmith or hardware store that has
been around for twenty years that might have one leftover on some
dusty shelf. It is doubtful that such a source would be locatable on
the internet.

I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but I hope it is useful.

This site lists Dexter hardware and might be worth calling, though I
believe that the information on the website is inaccurate.
