Dear pjmulberry-ga The first was George Raynor who was the manager of Sweden when they hosted the World Cup in 1958. Sweden lost to Brazil in the final 5-2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport3/worldcup2002/hi/history/newsid_1632000/1632211.stm The second was Sir Alf Ramsey in 1966 when England beat Germany 4-2. In fact he is the only England manager to lead the England team to a World Cup Final. http://www.englandfootballonline.com/TeamMgr/Mgr_Ramsey.html No search term for this. I remember it very well! Please ask for clarification of this question, or if the links do not work, before rating the answer. answerfinder-ga "english manager" "world cup finals" gave me a reference to Sweden 1958. Further searching then gave me "george raynor". Finally: "George Raynor" 1958 "world cup" ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=1930+%22world+cup%22+%22english+manager%22 |
