What are some ways to find out when new residents move into a
community within a week of their move in. I need to obtain their
names, address and phone number. Internet resources are preferred but
other techniques that get results are fine to.

I'd like a min. of 3 new approaches to try that deliver verifiable
results. Some of the things that have been tried:

1) Tried working with realator's but their unreliable or too busy
to help on a consistent basis.

2) Local Cable and Phone companies have not been responsive.

3) Local Home owner commitees have not been responsive

4) Utility Companies haven't been responsive or it's been hard to
identify when a new l resident is moving in.

5) Trying to work with moving companies, builders, etc has results
similar to realators.

Perhaps there's a proven method to tackling the above firms/companies
in the right way that hasn't been tried yet. If you can come up with a
viable approach to any of them that does work, go ahead and include it
in the list. If not, new
ideas please.

Thx. in advance.

Sorry, on a re-read, while knowing within a week of their move in
would be great, obtaining the information within the 1st week they've
moved in is perfectly ok.

It may help to arrive at an answer to explain further why this type of
list, within time frame, is needed. I have a close relative who runs a
Welcome service targeted for an exclusive community that she's lived
in for many years. The local merchants are happy to be participate due
to the target audience and how she markets her service: She personally
contacts new residents and sets up free personal appointments to meet
with them, welcome them to the community, answer any questions they
may have and provide them with the local merchants' Welcome basket of
gifts/coupons, etc. Herself being a local for 20+ years, she has a
wealth of information about the community and local towns to share as
well.

However, she's finding it harder & harder to find "inexpensive" ways
to quickly find out when new neighbors move in. Ergo, the reason for
the question to see if the Google experts have any ideas to help. Thx.
in advance.

Being a frequent mover, I know that the only way I've ever been
deluged with such "just moved advertising" is via a packet sent by the
USPS in response to filling out a Change of Address form. I'm fairly
certain that this does not involve the companies represented actually
obtaining the new address, but rather by paying to be included in said
packet.

Actually, being a little clever here, and assuming you want to do this
for only a small local area, I have an idea: Companies who do bulk
mailings are required to periodically check their lists against a
database of Change of Address orders. Checking this database for every
address in your area should produce a list of people who have recently
moved out, which would of course also provide you with a list of
addresses of people that just moved in. Names might be a little
trickier, and I have a feeling that getting phone numbers that soon
would be very difficult indeed, but it's better than nothing. You may
be able to get access to the CoA database itself on CD-ROM, but it may
be expensive, relatively infrequently updated, and/or not in a useful
format.
