Hello clueless,
Thank you for your question.
I searched for [recharge air conditioning system +instructions] and
found an excellent FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) at FirstFives.org:
Evacuate and Recharge Your A/C - By Dave Spencer
http://www.firstfives.org/faq/AC/ac_charge.html
"This faq will show you how to completely evacuate and recharge your
A/C system. A thorough evacuation is necessary after servicing or
replacing system components or when converting to Freeze 12, R134a, or
any other refrigerant. It simply shows the steps required to draw a
vacuum on the system to remove moisture and other contaminants and
charge the system with oil and the refrigerant of your choice. The
necessity of properly capturing any refrigerant already in the system
must be noted. You really should do yourself, the rest of us, and the
environment a favor and have that stuff removed and recycled by
someone with a lot more experience and the proper equipment. Of
course, if you have already had this done, you can skip over all the
vacuum pump stuff and move on to the "just make it cold again" stuff."
This is an excellent article with clear and informative pictures.
i-car.com has an excellent manual for air conditioning maintenance at
http://www.i-car.com/pdf/upcr/procedures/ac/ac01.pdf
This is in Adobe .pdf format. If you require Adobe's Free pdf reader,
please visit http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html
And, perhaps my favorite tutorial with excellent diagrams here:
JBABS AUTO AIR CONDITIONING - AUTO AIR CONDITIONING HELP
http://members.tripod.com/~jbabs714/autoac.htm
"This page is for non a/c experts who are hot and sweaty...
This page is also for persons that enjoyed being able to recharge
their vehicles by themselves back when we were able to get refrigerant
R-12 at the local auto store."
This page is extremely well done and thorough and I highly recommend
you read not only this page, but his tutorial on general air
conditioner theory and practice:

I trust the articles above will provide you with the step by step
procedures you require to recharge your air conditioning system. If a
link above should fail to work or anything require further
explanation, please do post a Request for Clarification and I will be
pleased to assist further.
