I would like to learn more about the daily life of a landless peasant
in Posen, Germany (now Poznan, Wielkopolska, Poland) in the 19th
Century. For that time period, I would like to read about type and
construction of housing; schools and education (was instruction in
German or Polish or both?); clothing; baptism, marriage and death
customs; other traditions of this region; food; patterns of movement
for day laborer jobs; wages, etc. I am interested in English language
material only as I do not read Polish. I am interested in references
to books and articles on the subjects mentioned. I am not interested
in any information on the polka.
