Is there an FAQ available on Blogs or Web Logs. Can you provide or
point me to information that fully explains how they can be leveraged
on a personal, professional and corp. level. While I'm aware there are
a variety of tools and sites providing Blog services, overall what are
the present technical limitations as a communications tool and how
might blogging be utilized as the technology and user acceptance
evolves.

Let me know if you need further clarifications to manage the scope of
this question.

Hello,

I'm not sure that you'd find your answer online ironically enough. A
great article I've read on the topic is by Meg Hourihan though. "What
We're Doing When We Blog" (link below) looks at the issues at a
glance, and directs the reader to her book, "We Blog: Publishing
Online with Weblogs" (link below). I urge you to give both a read.
I've also checked out the table of contents (link below) on another
book, "We've Got Blog: How Weblogs Are Changing Our Culture" which
also seems like the kind of narrative you're looking for on this
informational/cultural revolution. I've found a couple books and I've
also linked blogger.com's about page for some reasons why it exists.

BTW, although I've already rated the answer, any chance you could
supply a few links on articles that are either critical or present
apposing views/limitations to this "informational/cultural
revolution"?

Thanks in advance,

One limitation is preaching to the choir.

http://mailbox.univie.ac.at/~prillih3/blog/stories/2002/10/01/bloggingToThemselves.html

Talks about blogging communities as having readership with people who
only share like opinions, almsot to the point of trivializing the
author's words. If the only people reading your political rant are
people who already share it, then what's the point of writing it in
the first place? (This is just one example that I found just now, I'll
try to get you two more).

Weblogs can be a source for misinformation because the "trust" system
has no reliance on credentials of the author.
