Question ID: 145830
I'm looking for distance/executive MBA programs from top schools
targeted towards mid-level managers. The programs must not require
more than one visit per month (the alternating weekend approach won't
work for me). The minimum work experience required should be no more
than 3-5 years. A good example of the type of program I'm looking for
is: http://www.fuqua.duke.edu/admin/cc/cc_home.html.

To recap:
- Reputed school
- 3-5 years work experience is acceptable
- no more than one visit per month (no alternating weekend programs).

The problem is that I live in Seattle, and don't wish to fly across
the country every other weekend.

Hello ipsingh-ga,

I've found lots of information to help you with your search but I need
further clarification before I can provide you with an answer.

1) I'd like to know what is your definition of "Reputed school".
Please explain what would be your ideal schools and what types of
schools would be unacceptable.

2) Do you have any geographic limits? Does your "no more than one
visit per month" requirement mean anywhere in the US as long as it's
only once a month?

Here's a list of EMBAs nationwide to help you with setting your
criteria.
http://www.allbusinessschools.com/find/results.php?search=Y&st=&prog=EMBA&avgGMAT=&submit=Find+a+School

The Business Week 2001 rankings also might help.
http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/01/emba_rank.htm

I look forward to your clarification.

Thank you for your request for clarification.

You're right - "reputed school" was an ambigous statement. I've seen
all the rankings (US News, WSJ, FT, etc...)... and what I mean by
reputed school is a TOP 25 school (either full-time or part-time) as
ranked by one of these publications.

And the school can be anywhere in the US or Canada, as long as the
requirement is to travel there at a maximum of once a month (duration
of stay at school is not a factor - staying a week is acceptable)

I'm looking for particular schools and their websites as a response.

Thank you,
ipsingh

Hello again ipsingh-ga,

Here’s what I found after reviewing the Top 25 schools from Business
Week's 2000 rankings.
http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/00/

I’ve included links to the MBA/EMBA programs for each school. A very
limited selection of schools meets your criteria. See numbers 6, 7,
15, 18 and 25. I hope that one of them will meet your needs.

ALl of these schools have good programs, but none of them meet the
criteria I stated in the question. I have all the information you
cite below, and I thought I was quite specific in my request that I
was only interested in schools that meet at most once a month, and
where 3-5 years of work experience is acceptable. Not one of the
schools listed below meets that criteria - In particular, schools 6,
7, 15, 18, and 25 all require upwards of 7 years of _managerial_
experience, not even just work experience.

Can you provide a list of schools that meet my criteria?

------------------------------------
Hello again ipsingh-ga,

I’m sorry that I forgot about one of your original criteria in
compiling the list. I’m going to ask the Google Answers Editors to
withdraw my answer. I don’t believe that there are any schools out
there that meet your criteria. I’ve already spent several hours on
your question and I don’t believe that further searching will give
satisfactory results. I wish you well with your quest.
