CD-ROMs come in various types of packages (eg "Jewel"). What I would
like to know is: 1) A list with the names of all the types of CD-ROM
packages and a short description, preferable with their dimensions in
centimeters 2)a list that sorts those packages accoriding to cost,
starting with the cheapest. Assume that they all include a four colour
cover.

Hi! I have already found the different types of CD-Rom packaging. Now
would prices taken from vendors plus a listing of the different types
of packages be enough as a legitimate answer? Just let me know. :)

Hi! Thanks for the question.

Our first stop takes us to an article that discusses current packaging
and other elements in the market for CDs and CD-ROMs. The article
mentions that there are different types of CD-ROM packaging out in the
market today. They are:

Jewel cases
Multiple disc jewel boxes
Jewel box and printed retail box combinations
Plastic tray and paperboard variations
Vacuum formed plastic tray
Sleeve products, which include the Univenture Safety-sleeves, paper,
Tyvek, or polybags
Self-mailers
Disc caddies
Other custom designed packages

It would also be helpful to take a look at the different types of CD
packaging offered by this company since it has dimensions for the
variety of CD cases and sleeves out in the market right now.

In case you would like to know the standard dimensions for CD Jewel
cases, this link provides that information together with some prices
from the vendor’s website.

The CD-Works website would be a good source for price comparison for
the different types of packaging. I arranged the links from lowest to
highest average cost of each type of sleeve that they offer. Some of
the terms are different but most of them fall along the categories
we’ve mentioned in our first link.
