I don't think 2002 figures have been released/published yet.  Would 2001 suffice?

Here are the 2000 US numbers:
Total US Paper and Paperboard Production: 94,624,000 tons.  Now, in
2000, the US accounted for approximately 26% of the worldwide
production in paper and paperboard, which would be about 363,938,000
tons.  Canda, in 2000, accounted for approximately 6% of the
production or 21,836,000 tons.
