Hello curious300-ga,

I compiled a list of anti-globalization resources which includes
articles, groups, chat rooms, discussion boards, forums, news sites
and studies related to the anti-globalization movement.

Who are the Anti-capitalist/Anti-globalization protestors?

“They are not a single group of people at all. They come from all
walks of life; all ages, genders, races and social classes and come
from many counties.

(..)

The only unifying factor that could reasonably be applied to the
protestors is that they are people who are unhappy with the present
global, political and financial system.

(..)

Their Anti-capitalist/Anti-globalization ‘label’ comes from the fact
that the disparate groups of people involved will often pick important
global political/financial meetings (e.g. G8, IMF, World Bank etc..)
to make their presence known.”

What groups compose the Anti-capitalist/Anti-globalization protestors?

“In general it’s possible to say that the groups represented tend to
be one of the following: NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), Left
Wing Groups, Anarchists, Environmentalists and Human Rights Activists.
Each of these groups has their own aims, ideology and tactics. Some
groups encompass several of these grouping whereas other barely touch
on one area. “

THE ANTI GLOBALIZATION MOVEMENT (AGM) PROFILE AND OUTLOOK

“The anti globalization movement is an umbrella organization for
several hundred non-dangerous groups (varying from preservation groups
to anti exploitation groups). In 1996 the AGM had only a few members
and sympathizers. However, it has grown in the last 6 years into an
organization of an extremely large number. It is estimated that the
AGM has currently several hundreds of thousands of sympathizers across
the globe.”
There is a diagram illustrating this movement from 1996-2010 here:
