Is there a way to remove body hair FOREVER.  If so, what is this method called?

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

Hair can be permanently removed using a Laser Diode. This relatively
new treatment has recently come to me recognized as “Lasertrolysis”
(as opposed to the older method of "electrolysis" where electric
current is used - ouch!).

“Lasertrolysis” works by a principle called Selective Photothermolysis
and uses a laser that is fired at the target area for a millisecond
emitting a small beam of light onto the skin. The light is
subsequently absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and hair
shaft but doesn’t affect the skin. Absorbtion of the light disables
the hair follicles impairing their ability to grow. The laser is
effective on hair follicles in the active growth phase (anagen), which
means you have to actually HAVE hair in order to remove it. Meaning
that is not a preventative means of treating skin that does not have
hair growth in order to ensure hair growth does not occur there at
some point in the future.
