I am looking for stories that have previously won the Seventeen
Fiction Contest. This is a contest sponsored annually by Seventeen
Magazine (seventeen.com) and it awards first, second and third place
prizes, as well as honorable mentions. I am trying to find online
texts of winning stories (that is, actual story texts, not simply
author names/photographs, or story titles.) Second, third, and
honorable mention winners are fine too. Online sources are highly
preferable, but if you can direct me to an easily obtained offline
source, I'd also appreciate that. I am searching for both recent and
long-past winning stories, but I prefer recent stories. Two stories
that I have already found are
Sylvia Plath's Den of Lions (third place) and Miriam Lawrence's Waking
Up the Dead. I found Lawrence's story in the Seventeen archives.
Stories would normally be printed under Seventeen's "All Access"
section, within the "Fiction" subcategory.

I'd appreciate your finding for me at least three past winners (or
"placers"). Of those, no more than 1 should be an honorable mention
winner, and not more than 1 should be a third place winner. It should
not include either of the two stories I have already found. Please
provide me with functioning links to the stories you find. If you find
a comprehensive source of many stories (e.g. one site that links to
several), that is all I need. If you cannot find a link, please
copy/paste the stories into your answer.

Thanks so much - I very much appreciate it. I will tip for stories
beyond the requirement of 3.

Thanks - good luck!

I have recently found one additional story, which is in the current
issue of Seventeen. The story is entitled "Melting Queen". Your answer
shouldn't include this story.

Thank you so much, and good luck to whoever undertakes this challenge!

I have just recieved an e-mail reply from the seventeen.com site
keepers. They maintain that there is no other winning story in the
Seventeen.com archives (becides Miriam Lawrence's Waking up the Dead,
also known as Houses.)

Good luck--

redmango --

I have not found on-line texts of winning stories, and I have not
found print sources for recent winners, but I have found an
out-of-print compilation of winning stories from 1959-68. It is
called "Prize Stories From Seventeen; Fiction Contest Winners,
1959-1968" and is available from various used booksellers at this
page on the Alibris.com website:

I have not posted this as an answer because the information doesn't
meet your criteria for a completely acceptable answer, but I hope that
it will be of some use to you.

markj,
Thank you so much! Although that does not answer my question, it'll
help a great deal. Thanks again
