SEARCHING FOR PRIOR ART: ROMAN FOLD SHADES $200
We're looking for any solid evidence of a fabric roman fold shade (window
treatment) that rolls up, versus being pulled up by cords, that was
manufactured prior to 1990.

Please clarify,

I understand what roman shades are..have seen many of them in my
time. However, I am a bit confused here. Most roman shades are still
pulled up by cords, even though the fabric folds. Am I way off base,
here?
 Please clarify this for me.

In other words, are you looking for roman shades that roll up by hand?
This would mean they do not hang in nice folds, but would instead
merely hang as a roll, like the bamboo roll-up shades.

I have found a good history, so await your clarification on this!

Go to the US patent and trademark office site and look up patent
5,547,006.
This is called a "rolled cellular shade", but it is actually a roman
fold shade that rolls up. We're looking for solid evidence, in
patents or in practice, that this has been done before. Hope this
clarifies things..

that link refers to the patent mentioned above. the question is, is
there prior art - has anyone rolled up fabric that, when unrolled,
leaves the fold - created by having the backing fabric a shorter
length than the front fabric between each attachment line
