What types of recognition awards are available for "best place to
work" companies.  My client is looking for more recognition as a great
employer.  I'm  not interested in information on being a good
corporate citizen.  For instance, placement as a great place to work
in Money Magazine or Working Woman would be significant.

are places to work! So, before we can answer your question more
appropriately, we need to know som more details about your client's
company...

* In what sector is the company (or are you looking for awards that
cross sectors)?

* How large is the company (# of employees)? 

* In which geographical area (e.g., state) is the company (or are you
looking for national recognition)?

One example of a good national list that is cross-sector and for
companies over 1,000 employees can be found at Fortune Magazine:

Sectors would be:  insurance and financial services, and awards that
center on working women.  Also women decision makers  in general.  The
company has a large percentage of female employees, and also is
interested in catching the attention of wives who are involved in
making financial related decisions.
 
* How large is the company (# of employees)?  
About 4,000 employees.
 
* In which geographical area (e.g., state) is the company (or are you
looking for national recognition)?
In the midwest, but looking for national recognition.  I know about
awards like those at Fortune Magazine and Working Women.  But what
about other national or regional awards, or those that fit into the
financial services/insurance arena?

I'm looking for some database of award possibilities.

anything for the insurance industry is quite difficult. The only thing
I found was an “Employer of the Year” given by the Insurance Women of
Phoenix, Inc. (IWOP), an affiliate of the National Association of
Insurance Women, Intl. (NAIW).

While there was some helpful information, much of the data was related
to regional awards, and some of the material, I had already accessed
on my own.  I was hoping for a more in-depth search,  but perhaps
$25.00 was not a sufficient amount.   As I use the service more
extensively, queries and pricing standards may improve.

If your client is a government contractor in some way (as most are),
one additional route is within the US Department of Labor and their
