I am in need of a list of around 10 venture capital or angel investors
that would be interested in investing in a company that meets the
following characteristics:

1) e-learning online education or online publication companies
2) Early stage (revenues <$500K/yr, <10 employees; firm must be
interested in making investments of under $1M).
3) Based in Connecticut (firm doesn't need to be there, but has to be
willing to invest in CT)

Because most VCs say they'll make any type of investment, the best
list would be of firms that have actually made investments in small
e-learning/education software/publishing startups. Not just the ones
that say they consider such plans. (ipo.com is a good source of
actual investments, I think)

List is to be used for 'cold calling', so where possible the name,
phone number, and email of the right contact person.

My current list is below; I want to add to it around 10 more, though
I'd prefer 5 quality contacts to 20 so-so ones.

Thanks!

dconrad -

Thanks for your question.

VCs do not make any investments, most do focus on specific areas.
I'm not sure cold-calling will get you very far, however, especially
in the current climate - for a VC to look at your plan it must be
referred to him by someone he knows and/or respects.

In any event, a strong list would take a couple of hours to put
together.

thanks,

I agree that introductions are necessary - we can generally get
introductions, but don't know who to approach and who would be
interested. A VC has already agreed to lead the round but wants good
co-investors to buy-in.
