Can anyone find an electron micrograph showing a preganglionic parasympathetic faxon innervating a small postganglionic axon? I have one showing this in the bladder wall (of a rabbit, I think) but failed to note carefully enough the origin. I MAY have found it on the internet. However, any such micrograph (parasympathetic!) that can be photogrphed (or scanned for a photo) would be satisfactory. The origin is important because permission would be required to publish it (if I choose to). Thank you. |

Hi popso, Have you tried here? Bristol BioMed - Image Archive http://www.brisbio.ac.uk/ I'm afraid I don't know enough about your subject to assess the images myself, but you can search or browse the images and see if anything matches. -K~ |

Hi, The closest I could come to this is Separate urinary bladder and prostate neurons in the central nervous system of the rat: simultaneous labeling with two immunohistochemically distinguishable pseudorabies viruses http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2202/3/8 Arborization pattern of sympathetic preganglionic axons in the rat superior cervical and stellate ganglia http://www.mbs.med.kyoto-u.ac.jp/pdf/32TN.pdf Biochemical Modeling Helps Explain Complex Neural Junction in Chicken Embryo http://www.npaci.edu/envision/v18.1/chicken.html EM Autoradiogram of Lizard Endplate showing labeled acetylcholine receptors http://www.nbb.cornell.edu/neurobio/salpeter/salpeter.html Basal Ganglia Anatomy, Physiology and Computation http://marlin.life.utsa.edu/default.html electron microscope neural synapse parasympathetic electron microscope neuron synapse parasympathetic electron microscope neural innervation parasympathetic I've posted this as a comment since I'm not sure that any of these are exactly what you need. If any of these fit the criteria you set, please let me know and I will post it as an answer. Regards, bcguide-ga |
