I have a friend that is staying in Santiago, Chile for about a week. 
I would like to locate and make a suprise phone call to her.  I do not
know what hotel she is staying in.  Question:  Is there a general
number you can call to find out what hotel a person is registered in? 
If not, how can I find a listing of phone numbers to hotels listed in
Santiago, Chile so I can call them each individually to see if she is
registered there?  I found a listing of hotels in Chile at
www.hotel-traveling.com but after visiting that site was unable to
locate any phone numbers.  Thanks in advance for your help in
answering this question?

My good friend and trusted researcher, "bobbie7-ga", has also come to
my rescue on this one. Here's one that he offers as well (honestly it
puts my own to shame, but here goes):

http://www.amarillas.cl/respuesta.asp

Write hotel where it says "actividad/producto" and then press
"buscar".

Then choose hotels or apart hotels to get the results. The phone
number is the yellow square with the “i” inside.

You'll find well over 300 Santiago accomodations here.

Although the researcher was quick to find a resource(s)for my question
they were not very effective.  The first listing I went to had one
general number for 68 hotel listings.  Which ended up being no help. 
The other listings found were effective but, again when I went into
each individual site I was unable to find phone numbers for many of
them which made it ineffective.  I'm thinking that the web sites
selected have been designed specifically for "Online Only" type
services.  Overall though the researcher did answer my question. 
Still I have been unable to locate my friend. :(
