Hello;

Dana and Ginger Lamb are the quintessential adventurers as they
explored Mexico and South America discovering new areas and never
before seen ancient cities. “Quest for the Lost City” is their true
story beginning in 1937 when they left Tucson, Arizona and headed
south to explore the jungles of Chiapas and Guatemala. Traveling by
foot, horseback and canoe they traversed thousands of miles of jungle,
desert, rivers and mountains, made friends with bandits and eventually
found their lost city and discovered a lost Mayan tribe.
I found the following information searching Google using the search
term dana, ginger lamb. You can order an illustrated book for $16.95
from The Book Tree, at http://www.thebooktree.com/lostcity.html and
also from Only Amazon Books, at
http://www.only.com/cgi-bin/amazon/amazon.cgi. The price is higher at
Amazon, however they have several books available by the Lambs and you
can also purchase several of their books on audiocassette.

Enjoy!

Hi there,

Hmmm... while I appreciate your effort you didn't really address my
question.

I have a copy of, and have read, "Quest for the Lost City". Great
Book!

What I am looking for now are "the papers, pictures, and films" of
Dana and Ginger... i.e. things that may be kept in some archive, or
held by a relative or friend of theirs.

I am interested in this because after reading the book I have lots of
questions that I want to explore in more detail and would need access
to primary source documents (diaries, maps, notes, movies, pictures,
letters, etc.) to delve further.

Thanks,

- Mark

Oooops, sorry about misunderstanding your question. I have only found
tidbits on the Lambs on the web, however, I am contacting the
publisher for more information and will get back to you as soon as
they respond.

Good luck!

The 1985 Publisher, Santa Monica Press, seems to be out of biz.

Hello,

I have tracked down a club that I believe Dana Lamb may have founded,
I have e-mailed them and am waiting for a response. Also, there may be
a film they made while on their trek in "Quest for the Lost City."
I'll keep looking.

I was not looking for info. about how to buy a book... rather I was
looking for other info. about the subject matter/authors (apart from
their books.)

The answer to your question is: The Adventurers' Club of Los Angeles.

There you can see the original canoe from the book ?Enchanted
Vagabonds? and other Dana & Ginger Lamb related material also.

You asked about the film. They have had access to one of the three
known remaining copies of Lambs documentary 1954 film ?Quest of the
Lost City? by Sol Lesser RKO. The Club sold some tickets to the
special event with a private show of the film May 29th, 2004
celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dana and Ginger Lambs' motion
picture. They may have some plans for future shows. Internet address
of the club is http://www.adventurersclub.org. You may also contact
Adventurers' Foundation President, Pierre Odier at (323) 254-1549.

Little is known about their personal life after the books. Dana was
married twice in his life. When Ginger passed away, he married his
second wife Maria Lamb. If someone has other information or new
pictures, please put those to the internet. Thank you.
