Kongulu --

There are several sources for energy estimates, each using different
assumptions about the economics of extraction. As a result, you'll
often see reserves expressed in a range.

A good point to start with energy estimates is the U.S. Energy
Information Administration, which has reserves by country:
Department of Energy
"Country Analysis Briefs"
http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/cabs/contents.html

There are also several commercial sources of petroleum reserves,
including Pennwell Publishing's oft-quoted International Petroleum
Encyclopedia. Below is a description of the $160 book; note that a
good library (particularly a university of business library) is likely
to have this available:
Pennwell Publishing
"2002 International Petroleum Encyclopedia"
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/pennwell/20inpeten3.html

Here is PetroStrategies estimates of reserves, in this case held by
company:
PetroStrategies
"Leading Oil and Gas Companies Around the World" (Nov. 12, 2002)
http://www.petrostrategies.org/forlinks.html

Other sources for information can be found by using the Google search
strategy:
"worldwide oil reserves"

Great answer, not exactly what I wanted (no fault of the researcher)
but great value for the price. Provided excellent link which will be
repeatedly useful. I am very pleased. Thank you.
