I have always been able to delete prior addresses and etc from email
so I could forward by simly highlighting the part to be deleted and
hit the delete button. For some reason, I can no longer do that. I
am sure I have accidentally hit a wrong buttom somewhere and disabled
this. Oddly, I can stll delete from other things like word and etc.
Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

Sorry to hear of your email problem - but hopefully one of us can
solve it for you! It would be useful if you could tell us which email
program you use though - e.g. Outlook Express, Hotmail (within, for
example, Internet Explorer), Eudora,
etc.

Additionally, when you say that you're having trouble "deleting prior
addresses" so that you can forward email, what exactly do you mean by
this? Are you trying to delete text within an email (after clicking
the 'forward email' button), or are you trying to remove addresses at
the top of the email, where you normally enter where the message is
meant to be going?

Thanks for any clarification you can give us,
stuartwoozle.

Outlook Express on Windows 98. I am referring to the different TO and
FROM addresses that appear on an emai. Sometimes it may be only the
one from the person that sent it to you. Other times it may be
several that were never erased by prior senders as it went from one
person to another

A new observation---I have discovered this only happens on certain
emails as some I can still delete. Is it possible that a sender can
do something to prevent the deletions?

This is crazy. Now I am able to delete everthing as I always have
before. Let's leave this open a while but I will still pay the fee I
promised. Thanks, Bob.

I sometimes have the same problem using Netscape Messenger - there are
times when I click on links in the email and nothing happens (and the
same thing in Netscape Navigator, and in Internet Explorer too);
there are times when I try to highlight text, to copy to another
mesage or to copy to word and the highlighting works but it just won't
copy.

Sometimes rightclicking the link or the text works (and, of course,
sometimes it doesn't).

Sometimes closing the program and reopening it does the trick, and
when all else fails I simply shut down and re-start. That last has
never failed me (so far) - and it is all very frustrating. I'm very
glad they don't build cars and planes the way they build computers...
