Hello knarf2545-ga,
You didnt say where youre located or what office you filed your
claim. If you havent moved, the first step in following up on your
claim is to call the office where you filed. To further pursue what is
happening with your claim Ive found the following information.
Recent legislation transferred jurisdiction for Black Lung claims from
the Office of Workers Compensation Programs to the Department of
Labor. I havent been able to find the effective date of this change
but I was able to locate the list of Department of Labor offices that
will be handling these claims. Im sure you will be able to get the
information you need by calling your local office.
I wish you well on qualifying for benefits.
