Question ID: 148005
I am interested in finding good lists/directories of U.S. companies
whose primary business is assembling, or "loading," components onto
printed circuit boards (PCBs). Example companies include Cirexx, EPI
Tech Inc., Scott Electokrafts Services.

I am NOT interested in: companies that manufacture the bare circuit
boards, or suppliers of PCB manufacturing equipment, or producers of
the electronic materials or chemicals used in PCB fabrication.

Hello kj79,

Thank you for your question.

I searched ["circuit board" +stuffing +companies OR directory] and
located the following for you:

Google's Printed Circuit Board Assembly Directory

Another list of several hundred potential sources for circuit board
assembly appears at E-BannerX.com

And last, The Thomas Register lists 1648 Printed Circuit Board
Companies, many of whom will stuff your boards though you will l have
to be a bit selective in reading the descriptions in this list.

http://www.electronic-assemblies.com/electronic-assemblies/nsearch.html?heading=442&y=

They also have a separate category for Circuit Board Assemblers
featuring 428 listings here which appears to be even more targeted to
your needs:

I trust my research will lead you to the lists of circuit board
assemblers you require. If a link above should fail to work or
anything require further explanation, please do post a Request for
Clarification and I will be pleased to assist further.

clouseau,

Thanks. the lists look good. Can you also find a resource that gives
an overview of the market for PCB assembly, e.g., state of the US
market, size ($) and segmentation of the market, market dynamics,
leading players, future outlook, etc.

Thanks,

kj79

Hello again kj79,

I'm glad the list of assemblers meets your needs.

Your subsequent questions:

"...overview of the market for PCB assembly, e.g., state of the US
market, size ($) and segmentation of the market, market dynamics,
leading players, future outlook, etc..."

is outside of the scope of your original question and my research. I
would suggest that you post this as a separate question and one of our
researchers will most likely undertake the research for the market
aspects of this industry.

Best regards,

kj79,

I did a quick search to see about market size and trends in electronic
assembly and found Electronic Trends Publications at:
http://www.electronictrendpubs.com/

As you are probably aware, detailed and specific marketing assessments
are pricey. This company charges betwen $2-3000 for their reports.

Also, The Surface Mount Technology Association has reports available
at:

http://www.smta.org/knowledge/market_research.cfm

Frost & Sullivan and the Surface Mount Technology Association have
teamed up to offer SMTA members the special opportunity to obtain
strategic market research and analysis for a minimal investment.

Only SMTA members can receive Frost & Sullivan’s Surface Mount
Technology Subscription for this unprecedented price (more than 75%
savings off the list price).

This subscription, which covers all the diverse equipment in the SMT
industry, includes more than 1200 pages of strategic analysis with 600
charts and figures in 14 different studies listed below.

MEMBER INVESTMENT
SMTA Member Pricing Schedule

SMT Subscription (14 studies)
(Non-SMTA Member Price: $24,000)
Corporate Member Price: $2,000
Individual Member Price: $5,000

Individual SMT Studies
(Non-SMTA Member Price: $3,450 each)
Corporate Member Price: $1,000
Individual Member Price: $1,000

Subscription period is 12 months.

These are likely the types of reports you will find as a result of
posting for information on the pcboard assembly market.
