Where is Michael Poboronchuk now? In 1991 he left Vladivostock, Russia
with his wife Irine and repeated Bering's journey to Alaska in his
replica ship the St. Paul. They continued their journey down the west
coast, through the Panama canal, and up the east coast. I met him when
they sailed to Louisiana. The last time I heard from him, spring 2001,
they were in Canada.

Would an email address for Mikhail suffice so that you could
correspond with him directly? This is a publicly available email
address that you can use to write to he, Irene and their cat, Coosya
:)

An email address would be alright if it is current and it is for M.
Poboronchuk, captain of the Saint Paul, but it does not accurately
answer my question - "Where is he?"

hi lynnhair..

The email address is for Mihail and his wife. I sent an email to the
address that I have and will see if there is response. I got the
email address from their webpage.

Hi THV,
The reason I stated my question as "Where is Michael Poboronchuk now?"
is because everything I have found on the web has been from 2001 or
earlier. Their website says 2000. If they are currently sailing it may
be a while before they can answer email, I don't know what
capabilities they have with email. I know when they were in Canada
they had the boat out of the water for quite a while to make repairs.
Their plans were to sail to Europe across the North Atlantic, a voyage
that can only be made in the summer. So I wonder did they sail and did
they make it - Where are they now?

lynnahair,

Thanks for your question. I sent an email to Mike and received the
following reply:

"Hi!
We for winter in Toronto. Summer 2004 - sailing over Atlantic.
   All the best
      Mike

You can email him at threeonboat@yahoo.com and, as you apparently have
found, his website is at http://www.saltysail.com/.

Thanks again for your question and I hope the above information is
helpful. If you need any additional clarification, please let me
know.

Regards,
