Cellphone providers like Sprint PCS generally have entire exchange
codes allocated to their services. (The exchange code being the
4th-6th digits in the 10-digit US phone number format: (AREACODE)
EXCHANGE-NUMBER, as in (XXX) YYY-ZZZZ, where the three Y digits
represent the exchange code.) If you dial a particular area code and
then an exchange code dedicated to the provider, any final four digits
you follow with will yield a phone number reserved for that service.
Real examples: (703) 587-xxxx, (617) 271-xxxx, and (973) 698-xxxx are
all Sprint PCS exchanges. In other words, 587,271, and 698 are the
exchange codes for the area codes 703,617, and 973 respectively. I am
looking for any exchange code for the 401 area code that is reserved
for the Sprint PCS network. Multiple ones would be great, but just one
would answer my question sufficiently. Thanks for your help!
