There was an episode from this TV series that originally aired back in 1997. This episode is one where the boy believes there is a monster in his closet. At the end, his brother disappears after going in the closet. All they find of him is some articles of clothing he had been wearing. It turns out that this story was one of the ones based on an actual event. However, I would like to know more about it. There are a lot of weird ones, but to this day I just can't bring myself to believe that one. I would like to know the actual story it was based on and all the details. I've searched all over the internet and there are discussion groups for this show, but no one has ever posted the story behind this episode. I am a huge fan of this show and have been aching to know the story behind this episode since the day I saw it. |

Hello Stacey, The "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" episode in question is titled "Kid in the Closet" (Season 1, Episode 2 - June 1st, 1997). The only clue I could dig up was that it supposedly "[occurred] in North Carolina": Creature from the Closet http://mywebpages.comcast.net/scottandrewh/cftc.html Other than that, most newsgroup threads on this episode conclude that even the "true" stories are either strongly dramatized, or taken from dubious tabloid sources. Nevertheless I hope someone can answer this question for you!
