As to the second part of your question, "How old was the longest
living rabbit on record", the Guiness World Records website turns up
the following information when searching for "rabbit":

"The longest-lived rabbit was caught from the wild on August 6, 1964,
and christened Flopsy. It died 18 years, 10 months, and 21 days later,
at the home of L.B. Walker of Longford, Tasmania, Australia."
