I need a comprehensive (not complete, of course) list of mac fonts and
their pc
equivalents. I don't need a converter, I need a list, a .pdf would be
ideal. Can you find one for me real quick like?

Hi flavorflanks,

In the interest of speed (as you requested), I'm sending the first
thing I've found as a clarifcation. Let me know if it is satisfactory
and I will post as an answer, otherwise I will keep looking.

I have a list of postscript (mac) and their truetype equivalent in a
PDF file. This is from a specific printer CD, but I'm hoping it may
serve your purposes.

Click on chapter 5 to see the list.

Again, let me know if this is satisfactory or not.

Torq,
Thanks for the speedy response. As for the link you sent, it's
helpful, but not really what I need (I also have some concern about
it's info, as it suggests Clarendon Condensed for Helvetica Bold, one
is sans serif, the other not).

Here is the situation: I offered someone some help with their quark
document (they are using quark for the first time). They are working
on a pc, updating a document that was done on a mac, so not all the
fonts are recognized and end up looking funky. Since quark doesn't
suggest aproximations, only lists unrecognized fonts with the option
to replace, and since I don't have the actual mac fonts to convert,
I'm looking for a list with mac fonts on one side and their pc
equivalents on the other.

Here are the font equivalents I'm looking for (and if this has ceased
being a $3 question we can re-negotiate): Amphion, CaslonOpnface BT,
Swis721 lt BT, Swiss 921 BT, B Gaudy Bold, Gaudy, Formal 436 BT, 75
Helvetica Bold, Class Garmnd BT, Garamond light condensed italic,
Ovidius-Demi, Anglican, Garamond light condensed, 65 Helvetica Medium,
Copperplate 30 ab, Brush Script, Cambridge, Swis 721 md BT, Shelley
Andante BT, 65 Helvetica Medium, Zapf Dingbats, 45 Helvetica Light, I
1 stone serif italic, B 1 Stone serif bold, 1 stone serif, weiss bold,
I gaudy italic, louisianne, helveticaNeue Medium Cond, Zapf Chancery,
and times.

and again, this isn't my document (these problems always come up when
you're doing someone a favor), so I can't just scroll through and
change the fonts to whatever I think looks cool (plus the document is
80 pages - not that that explains using so many fonts).

I hope this is ample clarification. Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Falvorflanks,

The issue gets rather confusing, since font names vary so much within
Truetype and Postscript, nevermind between the two.

I found a page that has a rather extensive list of "look-a-like"
fonts. With names for similar fonts. While it doesn't have Amphion,
it does have quite a few of the ones you list. Also, a number,
perhaps more, of your fonts are common in truetype format, such as
Garamond.

Anyway, I know this isn't an extensive answer, but this seems like a
much better list than the previous one, and I figured it was worth you
checking out to see if it would prove useful.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
