I need to find a reasonably good-quality audio file of Ronald Reagan's speech announcing his SDI ("star wars") missile defence initiative. It needn't be the full speech, but the clip should be clearly about the lasers or missle threats, etc. |

Hello jhabley, I couldn't find a straight audio recording of the speech, but there is a video of it at The PBS American Experience website. It's only the last two minutes, but I think it covers everything you're looking for. It's available for viewing here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/reagan/sfeature/sdi56k.ram The full text of the speech is available from Townhall.com here: http://www.townhall.com/hall_of_fame/reagan/speech/sdi.html You might also be interested in this article called Strategic Defense Initiative - A Case Study In Systems Failure if you're looking in to the SDI. It can be found here: http://www.cs.brandeis.edu/~brendy/SDI.html Policy Review Online also has a discussion of the SDI here: http://www.policyreview.org/oct00/Davis.html I hope this meets your needs. All the best, Hibiscus Search Strategy: +reagan +"star wars" +audio clip, reagan sdi | |
