Question ID: 149538
I'm looking for a calender program that acts as an "Active Desktop"
wallpaper on Windows Desktop that interfaces into MS Outlook.

Does such a program exist and how much does it cost?

An example program (I'm not sure if they support outlook)is:
http://www.zepsoft.com/wallcal/register_wallcal.htm

Bonus for a calander that works on multiple monitors and has different
months for each monitor!

I realize the example will support Outlook in late March, I'm looking
for competitors and functionality today.

Thanks

mrsneaky..

Thanks for your question. There are several products that will
accomplish what you are looking for. However, the best option I have
found is DeskLook. DeskLook requires Outlook 2000/XP and is $19.90.
It takes information from your Outlook appointments, tasks and
messages and places them on your desktop. It is transparent so it can
run on top of your existing wallpaper. From their web page at
http://www.xemico.com/desklook/index.html:
"DeskLook is a system tray program that uses desktop wallpaper to
display data it reads directly from your Outlook. It resembles Outlook
Today data view with addition of a three months calendar (current,
next, previous). Appointments in calendar list are displayed according
to the setting in Customize Outlook Today and the same goes for tasks
in tasks list and folders in messages list. DeskLook offers three
different styles for displaying data and works even if Outlook is not
started so you will have your data available all the time. It also
features launch on startup option and displays current day of the
month number in the system tray"

The same company has another product called Active Desktop Calendar
that will allow you to import and/or export data, but from what I can
see, it does not tie directly into Outlook. You can see more info on
Active Desktop Calendar 2.9 at http://www.xemico.com/adc/

Thanks again for your question and if you need any additional
clarification, please let me know prior to rating my answer.

Hi, mrsneaky...

From what I saw in my research, DeskLook was the only product that
imported Outlook data into the format you are looking for.

Thanks again for your question and if you need anything else, please
let me know.
