I want to know where I might find a listing, year by year, of popular
music (incl. jazz and blues), 1934-1950? I think Billboard was
around back then, but I could only find charts going back 10 years on
their site. e

Dear eugenio-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

There are lots of places out there that have what you are looking for.
These two alone for example, offer more links to music of these eras
than you are probably interested in looking at. Some are listed by
genre, some by year, some by artist name, and so on:

AMERICAN MUSIC 1900-1949
http://www.nhmccd.edu/contracts/lrc/kc/music-2.html

AMERICAN MUSIC 1950 – PRESENT
http://www.nhmccd.edu/contracts/lrc/kc/music-3.html

These two basically summarizes the popular music specific to certain
periods of time, broken down by TOP 40 HITS and #1 SONGS (Song of the
year):

you have any questions about my research please post a clarification

final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the
near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.
