Hi!

A search returned the following results:

I have found 4 drugs currently approved by the FDA for the treatment
of Alzheimer's. I am listing them below, along with a link to each
drug's information page at the FDA's site. Please note you will need
the Adove Acrobat reader for these documents.

Aricept:

Reminyl:

Exelon:

Cognex:

[I was unable to find the label for Cognex on the FDA's site, so I am
including a page from the Alzheimer's Research Forum instead]

The Alzheimer's Research Center - Treatment & Prevention page
describes several of these drugs in detail.
http://www.alzheimersinfo.org/treat&prev.htm

WebMD.com recently published an article comparing two of these drugs:
http://my.webmd.com/condition_center_content/alz/article/1626.50918

WebMD.com also has a Alzheimer's Center that describes all of the
above drugs:

Regarding drugs under research, the Alzheimer's Research Forum
dedicated a section of their site to Alzheimer's drugs currently
undergoing research and/or clinical trials:
http://www.alzforum.org/members/research/drugs/
Scrolling down approximately 1/3 of the page to the "Drugs in Clinical
Trials" section will list almost two dozen drugs.

The Alzheimer's Disease Education & Referral Center has a section of
their site devoted to clinical trials of Alzheimer's drugs in
development.
http://www.alzheimers.org/trials/basicsearch.html
Clicking on the "You can get a report with full descriptions of all
the trials here" link at the top of the page will show you all trials
in their database.

The Alzheimer Society of Canada lists several drugs undergoing
clinical trials in Canada:
http://www.alzheimer.ca/english/treatment/drugtrials.htm#Status

The following article on ABCNews.com talks about a drug named
"Memantine" that has received approval in Europe for the treatment of
Alzheimer's:
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/living/DailyNews/memantine020327.html

More information about Memantine from its European Manufacturer:

I used the following searches to help answer your query:

alzheimer drug trials
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=alzheimer+drug+trials

alzheimer treatment drug
://www.google.com/search?q=alzheimer+treatment+drug&hl=en

I also searched the FDA's site at:

I hope this information is useful to you! If you require any
clarification, don't hesitate to ask!

Have a good weekend,

Axe
