I am looking for a manufacturer in the New York area as far as I know
that manufactures timing elements for a Totco Drift Indicator, this is
also refered to as a Downhole survey tool, a deviation tool, a double
recorder, or a Totco Clock. It is a mechanical timer that is used to
determine the degrees of angle of a drill stem on a drilling rig,
there is a manufacturer somewhere out the that is currently
manufacturing this device for a company called Acadiana Oilfield
Instruments in Lafayette (Broussard) Louisiana, the OEM is MD/Totco and
they dont give this info out at all, it was a patented device but the
patents have run out.. I need to find the manufacturer that is
currently fabricating these items for either Totco or Acadiana

Hi rickyb:

It isn't surprising that I wasn't able to find this information on the
web. I have, however, sent out a couple of emails to people who might
be able to provide clues in our search.

I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I have a multitude of other terms for this apparatus, in addition I
have website addresses for M/D Totco and AOI, these people will
certainly not give up their info, I also have JPEGs of the part
itself, if nothing else, perhaps we can look for a precision clock or
timer manufacturer that does custom work??

Hi -

According to AOI, they themselves are manufacturing this device; they
have their own manufacturing facilities.

I would tend to doubt that, they from what I know dont have the in
house capabilities to build these mechanisms..
I feel strongly that there is a sub contractor involved..
