I have a United Airlines VISA credit card. I am buying a house and the loan will likely be through Chase. I would like to make my mortgage payments via my Visa so I can build airline mileage points. I am Premier on United so there is no limit of how many points I can earn. How can I find out if this will be accomodated by Chase? There was an excellent article on this topic in the Wall Street Journal, approximately 6 months ago, but I cannot find this article. I would appreciate advice on this. | |

You wrote, "How can I find out if this will be accomodated by Chase?" Well, my mortgage is held by Chase, so I logged in to http://chaseonline.chase.com/ with my user ID and password and looked around to see whether I could get my mortgage payment charged to a credit card. Sorry, but I can't see such an option. I see several programs in which Chase is happy to hit up your checking account for the amount of the payment, but that's it. I guess if I were Chase I'd set things up the same way. Why pay a middleman? |

What about paying your mortgage in cash which you obtain through a cash advance using your airmile card? Or the idea offered at http://miles.hotdealz.com/air_miles2-all.html which would utilize a Citi Cash Card: http://www.promotion.citicashcard.com/?s=bahp2&AID=10113001&PID=701407 alanna-ga |
