I'm looking for a 12 volt dc geared motor to install on my Shoremaster
boat lift. I think it will be a lot cheaper to built the drive myself
than to buy it retail.

check out www.overtons.com I got my motor from them, and it is great!
I got a 110Volt which came with the gearbox and it was easy to
install, and I don't think it was very expensive. There are now 3 of
us in the neighbourhood who use them and none of us have had any
problems. I am pretty sure they carry 12 Volt systems as well.

Good Luck and happy boating!
