Where can I find Alex Singer wool and/or cashmere coats? Bergdorf
Goodman sold this designer' coats at least 10 years ago... I would be
more than willing to acquire a pre-owned coat. |

Hello babymargot-ga,
I am continuing to research the answer to your question and am on
another track. Alex Singer is a trademark of a French company that
makes bicycles, sporting goods, and interestingly sports clothing.
This does not seem exactly like the wool, designer coat business, but
does it sound to you like it could be the same company, that may have
shifted into this line of business?
Was this a French designer?

Hi.... I really don't believe that IRIS Singer has anything to do with
it...I don't believe that the company was French..Maybe somebody at
Bergdorfs that has been there for a while and connected to the coat
department would be able to shed some light on it....Thank you for
your efforts...

I have a couple of calls into Bergdorf Goodman's and shall let you
know as soon as I hear anything back.
Published information about Alex Singer seems to be scarce, but in the
meantime, any further information you may have to share, as trivial as
it may seem, could provide useful clues. For example, if you have such
a coat in your posession, anything the tag says or any designs on it
is worth noting. Or, do you know anyone who has one who could look at
the tag? Do you know anything else about Alex Singer? Where did you
first hear of these coats? I shall do my best with whatever
information is available.
