Is the United States a generous nation? Background: I was not present when this question was posed, so I did not have an opportunity to ask for clarification. I think components of the answer could be: 1)how much time and how much money do Americans give to organized charity? (I have Independent Sector data). 2) How does American giving of time and money compare to that in other nations? (I don't have comparative info about other nations). 3) how much money does the US government give to other countries -- foreign aid and percent of GDP (I have info on this)and how much money do other nations give in foreign aid (I have info on this). 4) how much assistance (time, material, money) do American charities contribute to other nations (disaster relief, etc.) I have NO INFO on this! 5) How much help (time/money/goods)do we give one another, informally -- help that would not be "counted" by Independent Sector surveys because it is not "volunteering in organized charities" (I have no info on this). 6) Do Americans THINK of themselves as "generous?" ( I have no info on this). |

Since you have a multi-part question, if you're looking for some rather in-depth analysis/answers, you may consider increasing the list price. See http://answers.google.com/answers/help.html#C for more details. jbf777-ga GA Researcher |
