System: redhat 7.1 sendmail 8.11.2 spamassassin 2.43 accounts: pop accounts on system entries in /etc/aliases entries in /etc/mail/virtusertable Currently spamassassin is running GREAT on the pop accounts. however, it is not filtering mail to the two alias locations. How can I set it up so that spamassassin DOES filter email to any of these aliases. 1) Must be easy. Much prefer not to have to maintain a list separate from /etc/aliases and /etc/mail/virtusertable. 2) I do have situations where dave@domain1.com is forwarded one place, and dave@domain2.com goes to another. |

Hi, The problem you are facing is that spamassassin is implemented at a delivery level, however the mail that is being forwarded according to the /etc/aliases and /etc/mail/virtualusertable is not being processed in any way if it does not reach a local POP account. I do not believe it is possible to insert a filter at any point before the delivery rules (where the virtual domains and aliases are handled), however what maybe possible would be to create your own application that can pass mail through the spamassassin filters then redeliver it as required by the aliases and virtualuser files. I can suggest that it should be possible to create such a program, but I have not been successful in finding any references to one, or any applications that seem to serve this purpose.
