I'm looking for a downloadable version of this past weeks State of the
Union Address by President Bush... actually, I'd be happy with the
right 15 seconds... all the versions I can stream, can't be
downloaded...any ideas?...thanks,

to be clear...I'm not looking for a statement that if I buy this or
that I can then capture the stream...I'm looking for the actual
file...file size isn't a great concern because I'll edit it down to
the 15 seconds I need. Thanks

Hi biovent,
I have the entire speech on my computer in RealMedia format recorded
from the Whitehouse stream. Which format do you want the downloadable
file to be in? I might be able to convert it into AVI or MPEG.
Moreover, please tell us which 15 seconds you want, since the speech
in its entirety is very large and hard to move around on the Internet.

Great! OK, so I've never put a video into a powerpoint presenation
before...I think I'll have to use the windows media player to run
it,... so not sure if AVI or MPEG would be best...do you? ....

The specific quote I'm trying to get...which can be framed pretty
nicely becaues of GWB's unique phrasing is

“The United Nations concluded that Saddam Hussein had materials
sufficient to produce more than 38,000 liters of botulinum toxin;
enough to subject millions of people to death by respiratory failure.
He hasn't accounted for that material. He's given no evidence that he
has destroyed it.”

depending on when you started recording it but it should be 40+
minutes into his speech... hope that helps... thanks.

Hello biovent:
You can download the clip you requested from the following address:
http://www.ics.uci.edu/~dhnguyen/Speech.mpg

It is a 49-second speech, comprising of the paragraph that you want
and the following paragraph. Please edit it if you need to, or I can
do so for you. The format is MPEG.

If there is any problem or you want it done differently, please let me
know before rating this answer.

Search strategy:
http://www.whitehouse.gov and downloaded the speech. I used some
software to convert it into the proper format.

Hi... that looks really great...but rather than me hack around for an
hour trying to figure out how to clip it short...can you edit it jus
to that text...I think it would make it an 24 sec clip then.

Thanks

Jim
