Hello Rustydog ~

That's an intereting question, and one would wonder if Barbara Bush
had breast cancer, due to her close work for many years with cancer
research.

The answer is "no", although Mrs. Bush's experience with cancer is
very personal ... They lost a daughter, Robin, to leukemia at the age
of three years. It was, of course, devasting to both President and
Mrs. Bush. Both her husban, George, the 41st President of the United
States and Barbara Bush are co-chairs of the National Dialogue on
Cancer (NDC).

The current first lady, Laura Bush, has experience with breast cancer,
as her mother had it.

Here's a biography of the Bushes on the University of Texas MD
Anderson Cancer Research Center:

Mrs. Bush was the recipient of the American Cancer Society's 2002
Medal of Honor for her support of cancer research. You can read about
their honor and contributions to cancer research here:

Thanks for the opportunity to learn more about the former First Lady's
worthwhile contributions.

Can you expand on Laura Bush's "experience with breast cancer" i.e.,
when and where she treated?

I'm sorry if you misunderstood. Our current First Lady, Laura Bush,
did not herself have breast cancer, but her mother did.

And no, they did not expound on the particulars, except to mention it
in passing.

Sorry again if I was unclear on that.

Yours ever so,
Serenata
